Note that traffic in New York City around the Cherry Lane Theatre is known to be busier at times of major events. Please plan accordingly and allow plenty of time prior to your event.

Both of CLT’s theaters, including the Mainstage and Studio theaters, are located in West Village at 38 Commerce Street in New York, New York. It’s never a bad idea to plan your trip whether you are driving in, catching the bus or subway, or using rideshare services.

If you are coming by subway:

The 1 train to Christopher Street is the closest subway.

Once you reach Christopher Street, walk three blocks south on Seventh Avenue to COMMERCE STREET (also called CHERRY LANE). Turn right onto Commerce Street and walk to the end of the block. The theatre is on the left-hand side.

You can also use the nearby West 4th Street station (at Sixth Avenue), where the A, B, C, D, E, F, and M all make stops. To reach it, you have to walk west along Bleecker Street to Seventh Avenue. At Seventh Avenue, continue west along COMMERCE STREET (also called CHERRY LANE), which is just south of Bleecker. The theatre is at the end of the block, on the left-hand side.

If you are coming in by bus:

The M 20 bus stops at Christopher Street and Seventh Avenue.

Then once you are on Christopher Street, walk three blocks south on Seventh Avenue to COMMERCE STREET (also called CHERRY LANE). Turn right onto Commerce Street and walk to the end of the street. The theatre is on the left-hand side.
